It's Fall Y'all & Say Hello to Faux Leather & Plaid
Fall is here and you know what that means. Fall fashion is in full effect. As some of you may have seen, I love Ann Taylor for the working woman in the office. They have a great variety of different styles that can fit any woman imaginable. This year, specifically, we are seeing a lot more jewel tones and plaid. Yes, you read that right, plaid! I love a good plaid. Even when I was little, I loved the movie Clueless and that iconic yellow and black plaid blazer and skirt was my dream. Which means, the 90’s trend is not just from the summer, it’s coming into the fall season as well and I am here for it! All of it!
I love a great plaid, especially in rich colors, such a maroon and deep shades of pink. This seems to be a hot trend, especially with pinks. Owning a long jacket that also works as a long blazer/coat of sorts and can be paired with multiple outfits will serve you all so well. I have one that I wear with dresses, pant suit outfits, and even jeans for casual Fridays. I promise you, owning one you love will become a staple item in your wardrobe. Just like this one from Ann Taylor. I can’t get enough of it. Here, they pair it with a dress. You can easily pair it with other outfits too. If you’re going to a winery and looking to wear ankle jeans with a Chelsea boot and white tee but want to jazz it up a bit? Add this jacket to it. It’s chef’s kiss ladies, I promise you.
If you’re even looking for a more double breasted coat that is plaid, I love one that is a little more subtle so you can pair it with more things, such as this powder blue double breasted coat. You can wear it with brown, tans, blacks, and even oranges. It’s great and so universal too. You can wear it into the office or even out running errands, heck even to the pumpkin patch with your family. Powder blue is also that color that truly looks good on everyone.
Now for my ladies who may be hesitant with getting into plaids, don’t worry. Faux leather and monochromatic pairings with sweaters was a trend we saw briefly last year, but this year we can’t get away from it! And when styled appropriately, it’s a great combo. My advice is if you’re going to pair different textures, like a faux leather pant with a knit, have them in the same color wheel, but make sure they’re different shades to really make the outfit pop. In this outfit here, it’s executed so well, it’s a classic outfit that packs a punch with the color. These faux leather pants paired with this sweater knit is just one of the many staples you should look into mixing into your fall wardrobe.
I hope this gives you all some useful tips and tricks when it comes to styling your wardrobe. Be sure to share this post with your boss babes and tag me on Instagram too! I want to see your Fall 2021 fashion!
